In 1905, when he was just in his third year at Stanford University, he dropped out of school to join the society and got a job as an intern reporter. Before coming to China, he had been immersed in the US press for 21 years, and the highest position was editor-in-chief. During this period, Aban did not consider getting a wife and having children. He just changed jobs frequently and wrote in the mountains. In short, he hated any fixed day.
