《皇甫少华与孟丽君》本剧情始于云南孟尚书家有其女孟丽君聪明绝顶，国色天香。刘家媒人和皇甫家媒人同时至孟府向孟父提亲。因两家官位高阶双方不能有得罪，于是孟父提出射箭断袍，皇甫少华赢了。于是孟父把丽君许配给少华。与此同时，丽君和自小一起长大，情同姐妹的苏映雪约定要同配一夫。
