頭樂師戴名鈸（歐陽震華飾）在危急之際冒充喬步龍（麥長青飾）在舞樂教坊昶麗園都知大人的身份，成功逃過官兵緝捕，但步龍因大火受傷失去部分 記憶，以高仁之名在茶樓當廚師，當兩人重遇時，高仁不知就裡，爽快答應步龍到教坊的廚房工作，原來步龍想利用高仁的音樂造詣為自己建功立業。另一方面，為除後患，步龍向高仁指腹為婚的未婚妻卞玉嫣（鍾嘉欣飾）提出退婚，玉嫣心生不憤決加入教坊當舞優接近步龍，因而認識斬柴妹利在山（胡杏兒飾），在山與玉嫣 惺惺相惜漸成好姊妹，但礙於步龍與高仁的身份錯配，四人關係暗潮洶湧，正值花魁大選舉行，真假情謎逐被揭開……
