007电影《Skyfall》的编剧将为Showtime开发一部新剧。该剧暂定名为《Penny Dreadful》，已经获得剧集预订，可能在2013年下半年播出。这是一部有着文学基础的心理恐怖剧，故事发生在十九世纪早期（维多利亚时代的伦敦），主人公包括弗兰肯斯坦博士和他创造的怪物，还有著名的道林·格雷（Dorian Gray）和吸血鬼之王德古拉（Dracula）。Showtime称该剧并非Bela Lugosi那种「纯粹的恐怖」，而是「非常写实」。Showtime大概想学习ABC的《传说》（Once Upon A Time），把许多经典故事杂合在一起——只不过《传说》杂合的是童话故事和幻想故事，而该剧杂合的是恐怖故事、惊悚故事、神怪故事和灵异故事。
