该剧改编自南北韩分裂前初次亦是最后一次以“Korea”之名，在1948年出征奥运篮球赛并且打入八强的真实故事，电视剧背景设置于1940年代的朝鲜日治时期到解放后南北韩分裂的激变时代，讲述年轻人们将篮球视为一盏明灯克服困难的故事。
