Netflix先后在《怪奇物语》和《先见之明》中通过孩子失踪展开超自然故事的做法都获得了成功，现在，它打算继续复制这种模式。《暗黑》讲述了一个超自然力量的家庭传奇故事。故事设置在今天的一个德国小镇，两个孩子的消失揭开了四个家庭的双重生活和破碎的关系。该剧集共十集，每集 1 小时，讲述了将小镇与 1986 年的过去联系起来的超自然力量。
根据纵横文学作家墨春花同名小说改编，讲述了定庄集团的掌权人——顾灵色，与未来集团的傀儡总裁——叶承枢，决定协议订婚99天。在顾灵色追求者权子墨阴差阳错的助攻下，叶承枢与顾灵色一吻定情，两人感情迅速增温。然而因为商业利益两人的关系变得扑朔迷离，一场阴谋悄然而生……
