The concept of MDT diagnosis and treatment mode can be traced back to the 1960s and 1970s. In 1965, the Northern California Children's Development Center put forward a plan to develop a multidisciplinary diagnosis and consultation clinic for mentally retarded children, and stressed the importance of multidisciplinary cooperation in the clinic. At present, many cancer diagnosis and treatment guidelines in Europe and the United States stipulate that all patients with confirmed tumors must undergo relevant MDT consultation before receiving treatment.
