这是一部基于朝鲜建国的历史事实上，添加有关恶灵和驱魔主义题材想象力的作品。围绕着太宗和两个儿子忠宁、让宁之间错综复杂的欲望，以及与觊觎这份欲望的恶灵展开对决。讲述没有足够力量推翻古王朝的李成桂和先祖穆祖、翼祖、桓祖为了建国而寻求教皇厅的帮助，教皇厅支持朝鲜建国，以取代佛教国家“高丽”。为了获得全新的臣民，当时动员的是西域的驱魔师以及驱魔师召唤来的不死生物，朝鲜建国后，被李氏王朝彻底杀害的隐匿的不死生物们再次复活而引发的故事。 张东润将在《朝鲜驱魔师》中饰演的忠宁大君是因为相信所有天赐之物都有存在的理由，所以可以对所有人贫富贵贱无差别对待的人物。 甘宇成在《朝鲜驱魔师》中饰演太宗，他是为加强王权、排除外戚，不惜牺牲许多无辜的人，最终甚至会抛弃亲儿子的人物。 朴成勋将在剧中饰演的是唯我独尊、充满自信的让宁大君，他拥有权力指向型的火辣性格，为建设自己的王国，与支持自己的大臣们一起，使朝鲜陷入了混乱之中。 郑惠成则饰演"国巫党"巫华一角。失去了所有的家人，独自一人幸存下来。从七岁开始就充满了神气。十岁那年开始被培养成巫女。
